09/08/2007 Abington MA firefighters responded to a call for an excavator into power lines at the end of Jean Carol Road. When companies arrived they found a heavy fire condition in the brush in some power lines that was caused by down primary power lines. The operator of the excavator had self extricated himself prior to the fire departments arrival. Abington recieved a mutual aid ambulance from Whitman and a brush truck from Rockland to assist.
