08/20/2009 - Around 2230 hours Whitman Fire and Police responded to the Essex Street MBTA crossing for a reported pedestrian versus train. First arriving police officers immediately requested for Essex Street to be shut down and for CPAC to be notified. The fire department assisted on-scene with lighting. MBTA and Abington Police also assisted on the scene.
