04/25/2013 - Around 1130 hours on the morning of Thursday, April 25, 2013 the Whitman Fire and Police Departments responded to the area of 12 South Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus. Car-3, Ambulance-247 and Rescue-1 responded. Companies arrived to find an empty school bus that had a vehicle partially underneath it. Another car was also involved in the crash. All of the occupants were out of the vehicles when the fire department arrived. All of the people involved were denying any injuries, and were not transported. Witnesses reported that the bus was stopped on South Avenue, near the center of town, when a car made an abrupt turning maneuver that pushed another car into, and under the bus. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
