04/07/2012 - The Brockton Fire Department responded to several calls reporting a building fire at 647 Main Street, at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, at around 1520 hours on the afternoon of Saturday, April 07, 2012. Engine-2 arrived to find fire showing from the rear of the building. Companies attacked the heavy fire that was running the rear of the building in the area of an enclosed porch. A working fire was requested, bringing an additional engine to the scene. The fire appears to have possibly started as an outside fire and extended to the building, but the actual cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Firefighters were able to hold the fire damage to the exterior of the building, with only slight damage done to the interior. Companies that operated on-scene were Engine-2, Tower-2, Squad-A, Engine-4, and Engine-7 as the R.I.T. company. Car-56, Car-67, and Car-55, and AMR-CA/4 were also on-scene. Companies spent an extended period of time on the scene overhauling and checking for extension. The building was occupied at the time of the fire, but they were able to escape the building without injuries.
