04/07/2007 At approximately 0100 hours Whitman Firefighters received a single call for a motor vehicle accident in front of 16 Pleasant Street. I arrived with Ambulance-1 and found a pick-up truck into a tree, with no occupant. A bystander told us the single occupant fled the scene. The police were notified and were able to track down the driver with the assistance of a K-9 unit. The operator was placed into police custody and transported to Brockton Hospital.
