02/24/2012 - On the morning of Friday, February 24, 2012 around 1100 hours the East Bridgewater Fire Department responded to the intersection of Highland Street at North Bedford Street (Route-18) for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon their arrival, companies found a two vehicle crash with several injured persons. One of the vehicles had its front tire wedged in the rear drivers side window of the other car. A second ambulance from East Bridgewater was requested, followed by Whitman Ambulance-3 mutual aid. The officer in charge reported that there were five injured patients that needed transport to area hospitals. The severity of the injuries was not immediately known, but several appeared to be minor injuries. Victims were transported to the South Shore and Brockton Hospitals. East Bridgewater Police, Whitman Police and the Plymouth County Sheriffs Department BCI unit were on-scene investigating the crash. Police received a report of one of the vehicles driving erratically prior to the collision.
