02/18/2014 - Around 1020 hours on the morning of Tuesday, February 18, 2014 the Carver Fire Department responded to "Mama Mia's Restaurant" at 73 Main Street for a reported fire in the building. Companies arrived to find light smoke showing from a twenty-foot by eighty-foot, single story commercial building. A working fire assignment was requested bringing Plymouth Engine-2 into Carver headquarters for coverage. The fire was quickly knocked down with one hand line. Crews continued to work on-scene for an extended period of time checking for extension and hot spots. Plymouth Engine-2 was brought to the scene to check the roof top units for fire extension and damage. A Plympton engine company took over the coverage assignment. The cause of the fire is under investigation. It was unknown how long the restaurant would remain closed while the damage was repaired. Carver EMS was on stand-by at the scene, but there were no injuries reported.
