02/03/2012 - On the cold morning of Friday, February 3, 2012, the Randolph Fire Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a house fire on Warren Street (Route-139) at Fowler Street. The first call came in to the fire alarm office at 0941 hours. Companies arrived to 209 Warren Street to find heavy overlapping fire in the front of a one and a half story irregularly shaped dwelling. A working fire was immediately requested. First arriving companies attempted to make a primary search, and aggressive interior attack, however the heavy fire conditions prevented them from making any headway. A second alarm was requested and all companies were ordered out of the building. Randolph and Avon's tower ladders set up in the front of the building and set up their master streams. An additional master stream was set up near the rear of the building also, in addition to several hand lines that were already stretched. Heavy smoke was blown through out the neighborhood as it poured out of the front of the home. The front porch and the front rooms of the home suffered collapse before the fire could be knocked down. A third alarm was requested. All utilities responded to disconnect their services from the well involved home. The State Fire Marshall's office was requested to respond, as well as the Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation Unit. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported. The house was unoccupied at the time of the blaze.
