02/01/2014 - On Saturday, February 1, 2014 the American Lung Association held its annual "Fight For Air Climb" in Boston MA. The vertical road race was held at One Boston Place, 201 Washington Street, in Boston at a 41 story high rise building. Fifteen hundred participants raised money, and awareness for lung disease research, advocacy and education; including smoking cessation programs, COPD/asthma management, and advocacy for stronger clean air standards. This year approximately eighty three fire departments participated with teams and firefighters climbing the 41 stories with full turn out gear, some wearing their self contained breathing apparatus. The Boston Fight For Air Climb was sponsored by ImmunoGen, Inc., DSCI, Lahey Health, Kindred Hospital Boston, and Whole Foods Market. The event is also made possible with the support of National Corporate Team Partner, Kindred Healthcare. Special thanks to staff of CB Richard Ellis, One Boston Place and Northeast Security.
