01/17/2012 - On the afternoon of Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 the Brockton Fire Department responded to a reported car accident in the area of 800 Pleasant Street. Squad-A arrived to find a car into a pole, with the pole snapped half way up. The occupant was extricated and was placed in the care of AMR CA/3. The electrical provider, National Grid, was requested to respond priority one. The telephone pole held numerous electrical transformers, and the force of the collision shut off the power to the general area. Homes, businesses, and traffic lights near the crash were all effected. The victim was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Brockton Police is investigating the cause of the crash. Pleasant Street was blocked in one direction for several hours while the pole was replaced.
