On a recent trip to Naples Florida I had the pleasure of visiting the home of The Friends of Gummi.
The FOG is a pet rescue service operated by a group of dedicated animal lovers entirely on a volunteer basis.

I was lucky to arrive during play time. There must have been two dozen or more kitties loose in the spacious facility enjoying the various toys and lounging areas.

Most all of them were in the shelter recovering from various ailments awaiting a clean bill of health and the chance to be adopted into a permanent home.

we adopted two kittens from the friends of gummy. They were a great group of people to spend time with. The kittens are now about seven years old and are doing great.

I have rescued a Mainecoon cat several months ago. Schatzie (shut-see) is a male,has front and back declawed, neutered and required shots. He was born 8-1-10. I also rescued a Chihuahua October of 2010. Unfortunately, the Chihuahua is very jealous of the cat. When the cat comes to give or receive affection the dog pushes him away. The cat is very tolerant but it breaks my heart to see their relationship. The cat is extremely affectionate, talks all the time and is very playful. My wish is that you will be able to help me find the home he deserves as an only pet preferrably with an older person. I have food, liter, and a "Furminator". I pray you will help me find a loving home for him. Please advise. I am grateful. Trudy Woods 390-1019 Bonita Springs.

I visit this same place I was very concerned with the living conditions that all the cats are in . The sick kitties were mix with the healthy one. Which means they all my be infected by now. Made me very upset seeing all those unhealthy kitty cats.. :(

We adopted 2 kittens from Friends of Gummi, Naples FL only to find out that they are infected with feline herpes, a contagious lifelong condition. Janice Rudolph who runs organization wouldn't speak to us about kittens health, she was rude, mean and said we didn't care about the kittens. We spend over $400 on vet bills in 10 days.

Some one needs to come in and help them out big time . This is why. Gummi Cats was to rescue a prego cat of mine and in good faith the org killed my kittens that were to be given back to me. My cat has been stolen, my kittens euthanized leaving me broken hearted. I asked for help and this is what I got!!! Please beware! Everything they told me was twisted and a down right lie. One lie on top of another. I spoke to thier vet and he told me they claimed it was their cat and kill the kittens, he will not be held responsible for their wrong doings. He is tired of this rescue bringing animals there to be euthanized because they dont want to take the time to find homes for the helpless creatures!

I have two wonder babies from FOG - I used to think I rescued them, but now I know they rescued me!! I cannot say enough good about all the people that volunteer there.. and the WONDERFUL woman that runs the FOG...!!!!!
