Beautiful capture - I love the blue color and the lighting!

The water, sky, and mountain are beautiful connections to nature and the beauty of the landscape - mountains themselves carry a certain power and mysticism that can bring calm. And don't underestimate sailing as a calming pursuit - I can imagine being the guyin the red shirt at the tiller of the foreground boat, rhythmic thumping of water against the fiberglass hull, sail billowing and snapping gently as the breeze catches in its pocket, water subtly hissing and fizzing in the wake, distant seagulls calling.

Truly a lovely vista you've captured here! I'm always amazed by how Mt. Ranier sort of floats above the city (on the very few days that you can actually see it, that is).

Beautiful composition, jp! Mt. Ranier sure is a landmark in the Seattle area.

We were there a few years ago, but there was a lot of haze and we could barely make out the mountain. Gorgeous area, though... I really like Seattle.

Stop it! You're making me homesick. Dale

Yes, Mt. Rainier on an unusually clear day popping up behind West Seattle. (it's actually about 70 miles away, I think). I was fortunate to be on the ferry going to Seattle from Bainbridge Island. As an ex-NYer myself I am always astounded by the magnificent vistas out here.

Mr. inframan:

Coming from nyc, this view is...like wow! Is that Mount Ranier? I spent a week in Seattle visiting a friend a year ago and we drove up there and had a picnic lunch. Even the drive up was spectacular, with huge trees flanking the road going up and down. When we got up there, the hike was fantastic with crispy air, clean as can be!

Such a high quality of life - minutes away from the downtown offices/homes of Seattle residents!
