Now, the next step, Sky, will be to go there and see that "live": I was impressed to see the "Perito Moreno" though I was used to see glaciers in the country I come from... -- db.

Oh my goodness, Daniel - your gallery is impressive. I live in a very hot climate and we rarely see ice or even snow. Thank you for sharing the link to the glacier images.

Thank you, Kathy and Sky: I do appreciate your friendly remarks! If this were an iceberg, as you thought, Kathy, the biggest part of it (I think more than ninety percent) would indeed be under water, Sky. But this is the front of a really huge *glacier* that "flows" here into the immense "Lago Argentino" as you can see here: <http://www.pbase.com/bollag/image/65447111 -- db.

Gorgeous, ominous and impressive. Daniel, aren't these things about two times deeper below the surface than above? Something like that if I am remembering correctly.

Looks so very cold....... brr. It's fascinating how blue the cast of an iceburg can be!
