Peace be Upon You*
by Justin Miller

Something about the ancient Arabian architecture, mildly lit against a midnight blue sky, and the classic crescent moon and star, that captures the original spirit of peace and tranquility. A peaceful and idyllic setting that was enough to inspire a prophet to start a religion...and should remain an inspiration and goal of all religions and all persons - peace and unity.

Wonderfully captured! I love the moodiness of the image, enhanced by the great color and light.

Beautiful image Justin and you did a great job adding the larger moon. Very peaceful and a good entry for the challenge.

Thanks all for the kind words.

Jerry - it is indeed a composite of two shots, both taken from the same spot one right after the other. The whole shot is pretty much as photographed - the exception being that I cloned out the smaller version of the moon, then added the new layer in 'lighten' mode which placed in the larger moon and star.

Very nice image Justin. Once again your comments coupled with the scene reflect the mood of the challenge. Dale

What a pretty image, Justin!
I'm having difficulty believing the moon is not added in post, though (not that that's a fatal flaw). My experience suggests that, at the exposure indicated in the EXIF, the moon would be totally blown out, and at almost full-wide on the H5, the moon would be much smaller - even on an agressive crop???

Wonderful capture - I love the lighting and shadowy details in the buildings, the dark blue sky, and the moon & star!
