the group gathered here is comprised of people who almost to a person reflect the selflessness and generosity I have seen in you for all these years (since 2001, I think). I wish you could have shared in our collective joy. In this group are 5 pbase photographers with whom I worked during Carnevale in Venice last month. Each of us had something to contribute, and a strength that was unique to them.. Everyone shared. Everyone gave what they could to make the experience great, and that reminded me of you and the example you have set in the STF forum. It was almost as though a bit of MF's spirit was there with us. The other members of the group are masks....that unique kind of human who is willing to give a photographer they respect, as many hours as it takes to do the job right, sound familiar? You gave until it was physically impossible to continue and in doing so brought untold pleasure and even joy to so many of us around the world. That's the last thing about this picture, it is of people from around the world, coming together to make Carnevale a success. You quietly orchestrated and coordinated artists from around the world to create a coherent community of photographers that pleased everyone.
I dedicate my trip to Carnevale this year to you because you embody so many of the qualities which made it such a success. To me Carnevale this year will always be the Mike Fitzgerald 2008 Carnevale. Thank you my dear friend! John (aka Fremiet)
