I love the way the shot shows the physics of the thing with the 8 ball nearly stationary and ka-bammm everywhere else. Great shot! Erichocinc Oh, and about the color: Them's the breaks!

Now I feel a little guilty for my suggestion...60 more tries?! Wow... Are you the one hitting the balls, too? Sounds like you could have used a helper with this one. In any case, you DID catch the moment, so this shot is a success and a very worthy effort! ~Nee

You caught exactly the right moment; great timing. - R.J.

Thanks for the feedback Nee. Actually, the pool table has a maroon/bugundy felt and I couldn't get it to look right last night under the incandescents. So, I put a 3 X 6 piece of beige felt underneath and captured this shot. This morning, with a little daylight coming in, I tried the bare table again, and you're right, the colors are awesome. Unfortunately, After sixty or so additional shots, I can't get one that comes close to this composition. The shutter delay is just to hard to time with the launch of the cue. And that's using three shot burst mode.

Oh well.

Good one, Rich! My only *complaint* is that I would love to see this done using a darker pool table surface to make the balls' colors really stand out. Otherwise, what a great shot! ~nee (rdavis)
