I love the play of shapes and angles and light. Wonderfully composed shot!

Helen, fabulous shot and well-seen! I really like how the light trickles through the little openings of the stairwell and casts itself on the brick wall.... it's a unique take on the theme but with patterns just about everywhere!

Another winner Helen. The diaginals, tonal variations in the brick, the textures and variation of the steel support and the wrought iron, as well as the diaginol shadows and play on light all add up to another of your fine images. Love it. Dale

Thank you, everybody, for your comments! I was originally interested in the shadows of the wrought-iron work on the brick, but the more I looked the more fascinated I was with the entire stairway. Quarters were tight, however, and I ended up hanging over a fence trying to avoid trees and to angle myself for a shot of the entire thing. (Just the shadows would have been easier :-))

I've always liked Wrought Iron anything! I once had an opportunity to watch some fencing being made and I was amazed at the skill of the iron worker. I love the patterns seen in these steps, the railing, and even the shadows on the wall!

What an amazing eye you have along with the ability to execute what you see. This image is so rich in color, texture and patterns.
