Tall Blonds Guard Feeding Bridge
by Sky

Abilene Zoo, Abilene Texas

This perky frame contains not one BUT two giraffes. See the 8 spider legs and two sets of horns? Beside them stands their trusty feeding bridge where zoo visitors can purchase crackers to feed to the Tall Blonds. One dollar buys an entire second of sheer bliss - because that's about how long it takes them to swipe their foot-long tongues over the edge of the bridge to collect their crackers.

I waited a good while to take this shot as they slowly lined up. I say it was either a miracle or pure luck. Giraffes are my favorite zoo animal because they tend to be neurotic, like me....

I remember this one so funny, and such a great technical shot. It is a bit of a s-t-r-e-t-c-h with that bridge, but I'll go with it. Lora

This is just too much fun -- I love it! And that frame, LOL. Great take on the theme and excellent capture.

The perfect cover for the new book... "Giraffes are from Mars..... hyennas are from Venus".

Very neat photo!

Thank you, Tabrizi. I know this photo 'skirts' the theme a bit - but I was wanting to throw something fun into the mix. I giggle at this photo every time I look at it. The bridge is super tall and it took us a while to figure out how to feed the giraffes. If I remember correctly, I tossed a cracker and it landed on the bridge's ledge and that's how we figured it out.

Hehehe... Seriously Sky... It's really look like an eight legged giraffe if one not look at the photo properly... Thank you for the smile...
