Visitor from the North
by Jerry Curtis

This one is aground in, what local fishermen estimate is, 180 feet of water.
This is only 1/2 of the above-water berg. The whole berg is here http://www.pbase.com/icicle50/image/80196276

haha, I was thinking similar to Denise, wondering if one of these berg shots was going to appear. Excellent catch, Jerry, the people milling around in the foreground really lend a hint as to the overall size of this thing.

Wow! You are right - this is one huge chunk of ice. That is so amazing, Jerry. Beautiful and amazing. I'm still feasting on those colors. One of the most beautiful blues that I've seen (color of the water).

Yea! I was waiting for one of these bergs to "float" into the challenge!!! Spectacular image, Jerry. The people in the foreground lend such wonderful scale to the image. Beautiful color in the water and iceberg.

Thanks, Sky. Glad you like it. I'm not sure about the height proportions, but volume-wise, only about 10% of a berg is above water.
This is only a part of the above-water portion of this berg. The whole berg is here: http://www.pbase.com/icicle50/image/80196276
This is one huge chunk of ice!

Jerry - spectacular and stunning! The blue of the water and the white of the ice compliment one another beautifully. I understand that these things are about twice as deep as they are tall.
