2nd: Glastonbury Tor
Fremiet

The word "Tor" means a sort of hill in the southwest of England. Glastonbury Tor is known worldwide because of its legendary identification as the Isle of Avalon from Arthurian literature (Tennyson, Mallory). It is set in the middle of the Somerset "levels" flatlands which were undoubtedly flooded in earlier times, giving more heft to the Avalon idea. My next pic was taken from halfway up to the Tor, looking back at a particular part of Glastonbury, with it's own mythical associations. My pano in Exhibition is of Glastonbury Abbey both the outside remains and inside the cookhouse. Arthur's remains are reputedly buried there........what a wonderful world!!
