Wow, that is so sweet. The side lighting really brings out the amazing geomorphology here. NIcely done. My mom is going to visit Turkey later this year. I sent her a link to your wonderful gallery

Thanks, Dale. If I recall correctly, it's volcanic tuff and has been that way for a long time. The entire Cappadocia region is made up of an almost otherworldly terrain which is simply fascinating. For more images:http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/the_wonders_of_turkeys_cappadocia Helen
