Thanks to an ultra-fast shutter speed I was able to freeze this wicked fast chase. ;-)

Great capture of this exciting chase scene :-) I love the sharp details!

Thanks again to everyone for their comments. Justin, I really enjoyed your play by play, makes me wish I'd thought to include something similar when first posting. Bill, my understanding is that the glistening substance you see is a highly specialized lubricant that help minimize the friction and heat generated by the body contact with the surface at the blazing fast speed these frenetic fellows maintain. ;-)

Great shot!!!! I wonder why they always leave that slime trail?

Fabulous shot Darren. And Justin! I love the color commentary. It really sets the mood.

Darren, not only do I really like this shot - I like what you named it. How appropriate!

Wow..the guy in back is really moving flat-out! The one in front seems to have pulled up a little, probably thinking he had outraced the other (look at those wayward antennae), but he never expected the guy in back to cut across diagonally and close the distance. And with those antennae pointed determinedly forward, and his shell canted back aerodynamically, it's only a matter of time before our hero in back catches and passes his fellow shell-dweller.

Thank you all for taking the time to view and comment. I'm gratified that you've enjoyed the bit of humor.

Max, to answer your question I'm rather gunshy about hosting another challenge. The last and only challenge I hosted took far more of my time than I wished and actually led to some stress. As selfish as that appears I'd rather avoid adding to my stress levels at this time.

The background blur must have been unavoidable with the speed of the pan you must have employed to capture this beaut! Speed rules!! Fremiet

Quite an amazing photograph!
Why not have it in the Elegibles?
