White Hot
By Jon Mold

I have cheated and reposted this one, I have gone in and removed some blemishes from the background wall. Hope that is acceptable? I took this shot from a higher platform. The 13 second exposure time produced pleasing saturation on the candle, looks white hot. Sharpened in PS as with such a long exposure found it produced a soft focus which I didn't like. I would appreciate criticism and helpful tips - thanks.

You ARE allowed to repost after tweaking your image... I think that's kind of the idea of these challenges, to learn and improve on your photography! MFC, correct me if I'm wrong here Ok ? Mark J

Mark J - thanks for the comments, I appreciate them. I have changed the working title to "White Hot". A long exposure has made the candle appear to be glowing White Hot. Will have a look at removing blemishes (is it ok to repost once this correction has been done???) - Jon M

Very effective visually... almost looks like a face (eyes, nose :-) Not sure there's too much you can do to improve on this one... ir's well done. If you want to get really picky about your image, you can clean up (clone out) the few blemishes that are on the table surface. For example, above the candle and in between the glasses is a blemish that's kind of low key but still a possible distraction since the eye is led that direction by the compositon of your image.

I would like to ask you one favor for the host: change the name of this one so there's NO confusion between your two images come voting time! You could name this one Candle Plus Double Glass or whatever you think is fitting. Not trying to be a "pain", just trying to help MFC have things run as smoothly as possible. K ? Mark J
