7th Place (Tie)
Anyone?*

by Justin Miller

Anyone have a guess at what this is? Some form of scope? A fusion reaction?

Taking the theme to its literal sense - I like it...but what is it indeed?

Wow, fascinating image! I like the color and composition in particular. Helen

Oh...and I should have said the original is in the 'demo' folder, not 'sample' folder. Sorry - it was late last night and I was getting ready to go to bed!

Well, we came pretty close anyway :-) Thanks Justin for entering this one, it was fun trying to figure it out. Thanks also for showing us the original image, along with the explanation of what you did. Pretty cool processing!

You guys are getting good! OK...it is indeed a rotated 90 degrees image, and then the image has been duplicated - then the duplicate mirrored and flipped. Bottles closed in further by identifying it as a light of some form. I put the original, along with a description, in samples for those who are curious. And thanks everyone!

Well, if it's a joined image, I'll guess that it's one of the lights around Justin's pool. The light probably hangs down from the rod we're seeing. Oh my goodness, this challenge is giving me a headache!!!

I thought the same thing, bottles. One half duplicated in PP BUT I still have no idea what it is. Good job, Justin ;-))

Justin, is this much at least right? The original image (half of what we're seeing here) was duplicated. The duplicate was flipped both vertically and horizontally before the two images were joined together. The joined images are what we're seeing here.

I feel like Denise: no clue to what it could be; but, nevertheless, I *love* this image, Justin! — db.

One hint - rotate it 90 degrees, and you might be able to tell that the strange muted colors in the background are sky and clouds at dusk. :)

Cool shot Justin! It's some kind of X-Ray machine. Yeah, that's what it is and it's presently x-raying a red vitamin pill.

Absolutely no idea!!! But I do like it ;-)) Super composition. I love the orange glow from whatever it is!

I really like the look of this image. The soft grays have an illustrative look, similar to a graphic novel .The composition is also quite direct and which works to highlight the basic geometry of the objects. I am completely clueless as to what it is.
