Good observation...I thought the same thing when I took this photograph...but it's real...I have seen this lady and her dog at this corner for the last three years. The dog is always immaculate. I asked her about her dog when I was asking her permission to take this photo. She said that she found "Drifter" ( yes...that's the dog's name!) as a dirty, hungry puppy near death about 4 years ago. "He is the only family I have...he's the only reason I ain't given up..."

Very, very powerful. At first I thought "this is a scam,the dog is too well kept," but then I thought.... here is where her heart, money and energy go... beyond herself." A very evocative photo, fine work.
