Thank you Willem, Ann and Helen! I totally agree with your advice, Willem. Your suggestions would indeed improve the image. Thank you. I also felt the lighting came out a tad harsh, causing some glare on the vase and even on some chicken skin. Oh well, live and learn!

Original. Bizar. Really made me laugh. To improve it as a photograph you could throw the background out of focus and choose a larger surface for the vase to stand on, so it does not draw that much attention.
