Frosty Oaks*
by Denise

Yosemite National Park

The oaks and meadows were covered in "hoar" frost which only occurs when the air is moist and the surface is cold.
After 20 years of visiting Yosemite in the winter, this is the first time we ever witnessed this wondrous frost.

Beautiful & tough to get with this fine of details & tonal range.
What I like best is the moss & frost.

Beautiful shot Denise and just perfect for this challenge. The foreground tree, and the grassy area below it, really enhance the depth perception of this image. Very nice indeed!

What an incredible "frosty" shot, you can almost hear the sound of the grass cracking beneath your feet. Wonderful composition on this one.

Wonderful image - I love the frost, and the intricate patterns made by the trees!
