Wind Damage*
by

Vancouver, BC

Not exactly of the weather, but rather the effect of the wind storms that recently ravaged Stanley Park in Vancouver, Canada. This uprooted tree is near the entrance to the park. There was talk in the media about using a crane to straighten it out and reanchor it, but I haven't been by lately to see if this was done.

Awesome shot, must've been a heck of a storm

Thanks for the comments everyone. Katherine: not much damage is visible in this pic, but over 10,000 trees were lost with an expected cleanup bill of $9 million Canadian dollars. See here:

Wow, Tyler, what an amazing capture. Not only is the tree placement perfect but the sky is gorgeous.

Great composition - amazing that the wind could uproot this tree! There doesn't seem to be much other damage.

Spectacular image with this huge uprooted tree in the foreground and the skyscrapers, appearing ever so small by comparison, in the background.

Very dramatic shot, Tyler. I hope they were successful in rescuing this tree.
