Thanks Zahid for your explanation. I am familiar with the various layer blending modes but I think the term "tool" had me guessing :-) However, I don' think I've ever tried that gradient idea, I'll play with that one!

Very nice work Zahid. One cool little tip I picked up a while back enables you to quickly check through all blending options. When you have your layers in place hold down shift and each time you hit the + key you move to the next mode....saves a lot of time. John (Fremiet)

Thanks bottles, Denise, Katherine and Helen for your nice comments. I admit I am not much of a photographer but I try to experiment and learn ... and become pleased when skilful friends like all of you praise my such efforts. As to the deatils of Blending Tool, bottles, it is one of the most useful tool in Adob. I tell you what to do to get some good effect from this tool. Open some image let us say some high contrast black & white image and introduce a new layer above it. Fill the layer with some colourful gradient with Gradient Tool. Now your colourful image is hiding your original image. Click Normal blend displayed in a window under "Layers". The list of Blending Tools will pop up. You can apply various to see the effect. I have applied "Difference" in the present image.Just give it a try ... I am sure you will love the experience. Cheers!

Thanks for the explanation Zahid. I'm not sure what you mean by a "Blending" tool, but I get the general idea anyway :-) Very cleverly done with beautiful results!

Beautiful image - I love the lighting and swirls of bright colors! I don't know what the blending tool does, but you did a good job with it.

I love this image, Zahid. The more color the better ;-)) I like how you can see all the veins in the leaf. Very creative image!!

No its not coloured glass, bottles. I exposed transparent glass vase with embossed flower and leaves design on it. The subject was back lit and exposure was Black and white. Later on, I applied " Blending " tool to it to acieve this result.

Cool shot Zahid, I love all those beautiful colors! How did you do this, is it a piece of colored glass with a light under it?
