Excellent exposure and color on the snow, Melanie. I can practically feel the cold. Wonder what your dog sees?

Beautiful capture of this snowy morning - I love the light and shadows, and Loki's golden brown color in the snow!

Beautiful shot. I love the contrast of his warm red-gold coat against the cold blue & white snow and shadows. (you know, he does look a bit like an Akita...) What a wonderful model he is for you!

Melanie, I really like this image. I'm not sure which one it is but I like it. The sparkly snow and Loki's? beautiful color coat look great together.

Melanie, I really like how your friend contrasts so well with the wintry surroundings. The lighting is very nice...I especially like the way it falls on the coat and face here. I like the long shadow cast too...and the glistening nature of that fresh snow. Neat to see all the build-up on so many undisturbed branches. Nice shot. MFC

I don't know what happened to it before, so deleted it and re-uploaded.

Bottles--thank you for your comment and suggestions. Actually, this is a totally different image than the other one. I processed this one first, and just hadn't posted it yet. I preferred this one because I thought the exposure and focus was better. I'll revisit the original (I probably lightened things a bit, I may've even used a slight 'diffuse glow' filter, I don't remember now). So, it was probably something I did that made the background branches so bright :).

MFC, thanks for trying. I just dropped into the gallery to start commenting and viewing and things, and realized it was gone. I tried to upload over the old one, but that didn't work; so I deleted it and uploaded again.

Melanie, I could be wrong; but I think this this photo/thumb link might be corrupted...I can't regenerate it by any means I try. I'll be back to comment and delete this observation when I can see the photo instead of just the thumb. MFC

Melanie, I like the changes you've made in this image. I think it looks better without the frame and I like your closer crop as well. *By making the image lighter however, some of the background (shrubby material) may have gotten a little too light. If you feel like playing a little more with this image, you might try making that area darker to see if you like it better. If you'd prefer working with this current image, try the following. Create a new layer above the Background layer and fill it with white. Set the blending mode of this new white layer to "Color Burn". Make sure your new layer is the active layer and use a soft brush, with it's opacity set very low (try 10%) to paint "black" over the shrubs. If things get too dark, simply paint with white.
