Hudson, NY

I shot upwards of 120 old buildings in Hudson in 2006 (& not finished) & am especially pleased with this capture because I'm partial to brick colonials & love the colors & textures in these three. Also that there were no cars, bicycles or people in the way. ;-)

I was able to get this perspective because the house across the street is on a little hill. I knocked & knocked on the door & when no one answered decided to just go ahead & shoot. Just then a delivery guy came & parked his bike against the iron fence in the right & disappeared inside the house. I waited like a character in a Hulot movie, worried the owners of the house whose porch I was on would come home & give me grief, that the bike owner lived on the house & was never coming out, that a car was going to park in front of the middle house, that I'd have to clone the final shot...
But that day, as you can see, the gods of photography were on my side.
