I took this photo at Tenant Lake in Ferndale, Washington. We watched this heron for quite awhile as he/she fished near the bridge across the stream that drained from the Lake. He caught several as we watched. At one point he took this great pose with his top feathers at a jaunty angle and I was lucky to have "Thag" with me and at the ready. (That's the name I've given my 100-400 zoom lens because it's big! - If you know the cartoonist Gary Larson, the name will make sense perhaps.) Anyhow I was delighted with the result.
