Greaat composition and colors, and I love that background! That coffee really looks good - like hot chocolate!

Thank you Mike and Photocat. Mike, the background is a fabric placemat. What pleased me most with this shot, is that it's probably the first time I ever bothered to use the custom white balance. I had to dig out the manual and everything :). Since I'm usually shooting outside, I always leave that on automatic. --Melanie

Great background, lovely color palette, and wonderful lighting. Looks like you figured it out!

Melanie, I really like your set-up of elements...the repeating circular theme and color palette is very appealing. Well composed...nice exposure & perspective. Everything is interesting to look at...your ceramic cup filled with coffee...the round, festive moldings,...and that beautiful background. I think your background really adds a lot to the scene here & helps unify all the circular elements...but, what is it? Nice photo, Melanie...very cozy and warm-feeling. MFC
