Thanks, Inframan & Katherine. Inframan, I never noticed the similarity of Native American art and this guy's(?) shell design. Wow! Katherine, this turtle did make it across the road because I helped him make the trip. This shot was taken at the end of my driveway where I found this creature.

That's a really good-looking turtle - very well photographed, too! I love his colors, and the detail in the shell. I hope he gets away from the road before he gets hit.
