Loki in Winter*
by mlynn

He was patiently waiting for me to finish taking pictures
of a snow covered log, none of which really turned out.

Thank you everyone. He does look a bit like a dingo. He might have some kelpie in him. He was focused on listening to some dogs barking across the valley bottom on the opposite hill. --Melanie

Lovely capture of a beautiful dog, Melanie. I agree with one of the comments below, he sort of reminds me of a dingo.

Loki is a handsome dog, Melanie...beautiful coat coloring that "feels" so warm against this cold, snowy scene. He seems very attentive and content. I bet he loves the snow. Nice shot. MFC

Beautiful dog, and I love the contrast of him against the snow. It's not possible of course, but he looks very much like an Australian Dingo, perhaps crossed with a Keeshond. Not that it really matters. ;^)

He *does* seem quite patient, Melanie. Nice pose.

Great profile shot of Loki, Melanie. From the look of his ears and eyes, there is something out there that has his attention. Nice capture of the moment. Bev

Whatever breed he is, he sure is a handsome and gentlemanly dog! :)
I really like this capture, very nicely framed, and on a technical note, the exposure is perfectly made for the snow!

Nice capture - Loki is a very handsome dog, and I love his concentrated expression! I bet he loves to play in the snow.

Thank you tcoen. I honestly don't know what breed/s he is. I adopted him as a puppy from a shelter last year. He's a medium sized dog (about 48 pounds) with a tightly coiled tail, and I think he has some type of cattle dog/herding breed in him. --Melanie

Nice shot. Looks loyal indeed. What kind of dog is he/she?
