It was a thistle. They're unpleasantly prickly but quite vibrant; the gold finches love them as well. And yeah, that one at the top looks as though he's trying to make it all in one load before returning to the hive... :-)
Carmen, very nice catch of this set of three busy bees. The one in the upper left corner looks especially busy...wonder if he will even be able to make it back to the hive! :) Well composed and beautiful colors...nice DOF in the background too. Nice shot...do you know what kind of flower that is? MFC
