The Haunted Castle (1897)*
by Justin Miller

Yes...EIGHTEEN NINETY SEVEN! This was one of the very earliest of films - silent of course...it might also have been the first-ever horror film.

The photograph was converted to a B&W and sepia blend, noise added, then framed.

Sony DSC-F717
1/800s f/8.0 at 35.2mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Nice image - I like the composition, with the branches in the foreground, and I like the old-fashioned look of sepia, with the grain!

Thank you all. I wanted the haunted halloween type feel, and the brownish looked spookier than pure B&W to me. I thought the grainy, noisy look was more appropriate to the scene and the period setting.
All comments appreciated!

The photo look pretty old to me with all the pp done to it... Like some photo that come out from a flip of some first edition books...

Moti still holds the challenge record for earliest date but this one's close! That's a pretty spooky scene, I think the branches and the grainy effect make it so!
