Shimmering Iridescence by Dee Golden

"You paid how much for that glass?" asked my friend. Well, hmmm, yeah, I did pay $16.00 for the shorter glass. I've had them for years now and they've never ceased to delight me. What a great opportunity this challenge is to pay homage to them, and to the glass blower who makes them. Unfortunately I can't read the name inscribed on the bottom of the glasses. The glasses provide so many photo opportunities, but my fear was that if I made them too abstract no one would understand what they were looking at. Taken with seamless paper, a white foamcore board used to reflect window light and a Sony S70 which just didn't want to focus and accept a smaller f/stop. Sometimes I really miss my 707. Hope it comes back from the repair center soon.

Gorgeous, really captures the iridescent quality... for funz try using same glasses, lay them onto black velvet and have a handfull of those iridescent clear planter glass stones...pouring out like "water" from the tall one that's tipped over...anyway I love it!! But then I'm also a great lover of hand blown glass :) and anything iridescent sends me over the moon!

Dee... I think we can all agree now, your husband IS in the minority! :-) Your placement of the glasses is perfect and I must agree, the colors are beautiful. You did a great job of taking the ordinary (glasses) and making it look extraordinary. Mark J

Thank you all for your comments. My husband came home and looked at the glasses and said, "That's not how I see them." He wasn't very impressed at all! So I've been trying not to be too bummed! I hope he's in the minority! LOL --Dee

Great glasses! I have the feeling I've seen them before, although if I had, I probably would have bought them. Nice lighting and composition, effective background color. Helen
