Just beautiful...composition is very strong to begin with, but lighting is superb. Great time of day, great cast shadows, good sun warmth, and great retention of blue skies.

Great shot - I love the perspective, and the color of the building against the blue sky, and the interesting and beautiful ancient architecture!

Thank you both for the comments! bottles, thank you for the research you did on several of my pictures! I'm currently in the process of moving from Turkey to Washington, D.C., and on the road with a computer that I don't normally use and without all my Turkey reference materials. This library is truly spectacular in person and I photographed it from many angles, but this is the one that I had in my mind to take from the very beginning. For more shots of Ephesus, go tohttp://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/51515473 and 15 following images. Helen

Oh my goodness, this is beautiful Helen! I love your viewpoint and camera angle here. More Internet research... this library is about 1900 years old! It's truly a gorgeous shot and an outstanding entry for the theme of this challenge.

Wow. That would make a nice garden sculpture.
Beautiful capture, Helen.
