Nah, dunno about "very good"... just very stubborn with this since I thought it had good potential ;-) It was a lot of work! Unfortunately the crest was a bit streaky on this occasion and didn't offer the fine detail I would have liked. (Mind you, if it had, I would have been working on it till eternity! But FWIW here's what it should look like:http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/image/23833979/original) - Mike

Outstanding post processing of the background; I can usually tell, but not here...you're very good!

Thanks, bottles; this was a very lucky catch and I've always been fond of it. Sonny came to us in quest of "a good home" about 8 years ago and has been a fabulous companion. This was just in our kitchen (with some Photoshop wall demolition ;-), in some branches atop the cage that is NEVER closed, and I'm still amazed that he waited for me to go get the camera. Normally the good poses never last. A gentle tap on the branch fanned the tail out again, alert and ready for flight. - Mike

Wow, this is a great shot Mike. Good composition and focus and I really like the low camera angle used here. Beautiful bird and beautiful image!
