This is a tremendously exciting image, the cropping, the angles and the overlap... I LOVE it. I so wish it were clearer... do you know if the blur was from motion or poor focus? I fully understand how an animal is hard to capture especially in low lighting.
One thing I might try is pumping up the darker side of the image, play with the levels and give it a full range from the black-black to the whitest white...
