Each of the eight columns on the bridge bears a plaque listing names and the inscription "...To the Sons of Elkhart County Who Died In the World War".

I was so far up-river when I heard the sirens, that I could not even see the vehicles on the bridge. Used optical zoom, hand-held & blindly shot. Also cropped. All things considered, the 707 performed beyond expectations. It was also that magical 1/2 hour before sunset. I had never before seen the underside of the bridge lit by the sun. full exif
