RedBrownGold and Black

Here it is. The most unlikely "Gold" entry you will ever see. If you squint your eyes and look real close, you might see a tiny bit of gold color in the leaves. This is as close to anything Gold found in this part of the country. HaHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I promise the next challenge I will do better.

Nice shot Donald! Great composition and beautiful colors. As for the gold color... it's true that in it's pure form, gold is yellow. However, to make it harder for use in jewelry making, other metals are always added to create a gold alloy. The gold we're used to seeing in jewelry is of course a gold alloy and can come in several different shades. One such example is "pink" or "rose" gold. It is made by increasing the proportion of copper (which is red) in the mixture. I can see many examples of rose gold in the color of the leaves in this photo. bottles

I like this, Donald, and I think it was worth waiting for! I love pictures of windows, and this one has the added advantage of being nicely framed by leaves and the homey feel of a lace curtain. Nice color and sharpness as well. Helen (but I think your date must be wrong on the camera :-)
