Wow, sounds like you put a lot of work into this, but seems it was worth it! The serendipitous effect is pretty cool, too :-). Helen

Thank you Helen! This was shot with my V1 on a tripod facing up into a sweet gum tree in my front yard (just turning colors). I plucked my favorite leaf off the tree and proceeded to try and drop it in front of the camera. I used manual set focus at about .5 meter on medium zoom, with +0.7EV compensation on P mode with Slow Sync Flash. I noticed on one take that a piece of the leaf was caught by the flash and lit up like this, so I dropped and dropped until I got one to catch "in focus." The image was photoshoped for levels and colors to remove a little green and bring out a bit more red, but that was it.
The ghost trail on this particular image was not photoshopped, but was pure serendipity :)
Quite a striking high-key image, braonm! I like how the leaf almost appears radioactive, and the colors are lovely in the background. Very creative! Helen
