Hurricane Monument

This frieze depicts coconut palm trees bending before the force of hurricane
winds while the waters from an angry sea lap at the bottom of their trunks.
It is part of the Hurricane Monument in Islamorada, Florida Keys, that
commemorates the worst hurricane on record there. It claimed hundreds of
lives on Labor Day, 1935. Winds were in excess of 200 miles per hour.
I took this pic while on vacation...and closely watching what "Isidore" was doing.
