A Tale Of Two Beauties
by

Thanks to those who commented on the previous entry "Ruby-Throated Hummingbird" - I appreciate it but I had to delete it so I can upload this new photo. How this photo was done: Cut a fresh Day Lily flower and positioned it in front of the hummingbird feeder. As the bird approaches the feeder it noticed this new "thing" in front of where it knows it can feed and decided to check it out. I was wishing this behavior and was ready to take the photo. The background is the siding of a grey house.

Sonny, good idea/method to prepare for the arrival of this hummingbird...nice catch too. I really like how the bird hovers in mid-air right in front of the flower. Very nice detail in the face and neck...neat to see a lot of feathery detail in the motion blur of the wings too. Nice shot. MFC

Sonny, I can only second what Cherly and gk have noted. There's even detail in the blur of those little wings. WOW!---Deb
