Summer Stroll
by MFC

This walking/jogging path winds gently around
"mirror lake", high atop Eden Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The view into Kentucky is barely visible in the distance,
way beyond the wall & just on the other side of the Ohio River.

Converted to B&W, then lightly toned.

Perfect crop. Perfect composition. I like the way you rendered the scene very bright, whch helps break down the image into fewer elements for the eye to have to focus on... leading the eye to follow the bright edge of ths curve. I am glad you included the people, without which the image wouldn't have worked as well, for me. Markjay

Really nice high key touch here Mike. The patch of rivulets works wonderfully to complement the couple. The cropping decision is intriguing. If it were me, I would have spent hours trying to figure out the best crop and never have done it. Your decisions work in a truly plasing way. John

Mike, I really like the way the "S" curve draws your eyes all the way to the horizon. I think the people add to the scene, makes it more interesting and inviting, just want to take a long stroll. Linda L.

Thanks for the comments everyone. DMW, I tried a number of shots with and without people. I simply preferred the ones where someone was "using" the pathway... and this couple was my favorite. I certainly can see taking a more "minimalist" viewpoint here too...so I really do appreciate your personal impressions. Thanks! MFC

Very nice image, but I am not sure I agree with Deb about the people. Maybe they distract from the geometry? Also perhaps their gaze pulls the eye out of frame....

interesting 'S' pattern in this path composition.

Wonderful capture of a pathway. The curve of pathway and rim of the lake really draw your focus. Glad you were able to catch some strollers. They really add to the compostion.---Deb

Nice shot - I love the curvature of the path, the high key exposure, and the foggy view into Kentucky!

Beautiful image, Mike. I especiallylike the sensuousness of the curve and the high key touch. Helen

Nice capture of the seductively curving pathway, MFC; your composition draws my eye all the way to Kentucky. Also, the strollers are a neat - and important - counterpoint in the landscape. Bev
