Thanks for the comments. It was so quiet there that evening you could hear a pin drop.
This community is on the north central coast of Newfoundland, about 7 hours' drive from where I live. However, this is a fairly typical scene that I might find very close to home, and in hundreds of similar little communities all over the province.
