Interesting minimalist study, Ann. Meaning? Well, the book "Princess in Denim" exists, it seems, inspired by Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper". If we assume that this scrawl is a fairly recent piece of work, then my guess is that the phrase has been appropriated by someone wanting to mark (pun not intended) the 5th anniversary of Diana's death, which has been in the news a bit, of late. -- Mike
