Nojoqui Creek No 4*
by Terry Straehley

Nojoqui Park, Santa Barbara County ,CA

The California Rains and this Challenge subject inspired me to visit this park near my home. The combination of flowing falls and creek and a sunny Sunday brought out many others to visit while I was there. By the way the name is pronounced No-ho-we. I also wondered what the name meant. This is the answer I received. " Nojoqui was a rancheria in the Mission La Purisima territory. Local experts say the word "nojoqui" seems to stem from the language of the local Chumash tribe, but its meaning is now unknown."

Terry, looks like you picked a nice spot to relax by and enjoy...I can hear the gentle sounds of the traveling water. Nice capture of the rocky nature of the bed...and the silky, smooth motion of the flow. Well composed along a diagonal too. Nice shot, Terry. MFC

Ohh you live in a beautiful area. The flow of the water is so smooth, I really like the way it imulates the sounds and motions of a water passing by. I could sit there all day. great job!
